    Perfect size for amateur fixer-upper

Needed a hammer to do some low-stakes work around the house. This has been perfect.

I think I love this hammer

I know it’s silly, but I love this hammer. It’s balanced nicely, it’s made in the USA, and it feels soft in my hand.

16 Oz. hammer now 1 inch shorter?

I bought one of these Estwing E3 hammers over 40 years ago and it has driven a lot of nails and other stuff. The claws finally gave up so pulled nails get stuck in them requiring a lot of extra effort to remove the nail from the claws. So I ordered a replacement for the next 40 years. What do you know? In Easting’s infinite wisdom the new hammer is one inch shorter than my old one. My dead eye swing is now off by one inch and I hope it doesn’t take me years to adjust to the new length. Are they saving money by saving rubber handle material or does it have to do with expedited shipping size? Who knows? Just beware of this issue– Quality seems to be good… time will tell if the new steel is as tough as the old.

    Quality product.

While I prefer wood handles, there are some situations where I want the extreme durability of solid steel. This fit the bill.
