First, this tool just feels great in the hand. Stamped stainless construction, no sharp edges, and I can get a good grip on the handle despite its small size (handle is 3-3/4″, I measured it). It also seems to warm quickly to my hand, which is nice. Maybe my hands won’t freeze into hand-sicles if I ever need to use it outside? Eh, I know. I’m hoping for too much here.Second, it has more teeth on the ratchet than most similar products, and that helped me to reach into some very tight spaces today, including one of the tiny motor mounts on my 3D printer, haha. I love how the special bits snap into the ratchet, and that I can adjust their position using the knurled end on the bits. Very handy already, allowed me to reach those tiny M3 screws just right.Third, it’s both made and assembled in the USA. I even got a card that mine was assembled by someone named “Annie.” I love that. Haven’t seen that in years. It even comes in a little yellow pouch with that old-style writing from decades ago.In short, it both looks like, and feels like a quality tool from the 50s to 60s, just like Dad’s old craftsman ratchet set, plus the price is right. Buy it.

Perfect fit for most gun screws.

Yes, these are pricy, but the quality is great. Although I’m a gun owner, I’ve never actually needed a set of these, but I can definitely see the application now. We actually bought these as I’m helping my wife refurbish an 80 year old Singer sewing machine. Long before Phillips screws, flat/slotted screws were king, and this machine is full of them. That and after being in place for decades covered in grime, normal everyday slotted screw drivers with a tappered tips won’t cut it, you’ll most likely just round out the head. The quality is great and even though they are small drive bits, they do not feel cheap or lightweight. These bits have worked perfectly everytime we’ve used them, even on screws that were already starting to round out on the head.Lastly, I love the “Made in the USA” proudly placed in large letters, backgrounded by the American Flag on the front of the case. It may actually be larger than the ”The Chapman MFG Company” logo. To me, this speaks of the pride in their workmanship/quality.

This kit is very nicely done and well organized. I planned on using this for my guns, but it has other uses where good fitment of the bits in screws is required. One issue I did not like is the handle extension retainment. It uses a spring-loaded ball to hold the extension in-place by friction, there is no detent slot for that spring-loaded ball to fall into in the handle. I found the torx bits fit so tight into the torx screws that the handle extension will pull out of the handle. I brought this to the manufacturer’s attention and immediately received a response and that they were sending out another extension immediately. Upon receipt of the new extension I noted it did not fix the problem, as there just is not enough friction between the spring-loaded ball and the smooth female portion of the handle where it is inserted. I replied to the manufacturer this did not fix the problem and a detent slot or notch should be machined into the handle. That email was sent to the manufacturer on April 9th and I have not received a response back, (Today is May 9th).

I purchased this set to go in my range bag, and I absolutely love it. This is also a great set of drivers for anything around the house. I haven’t found any fastener that I didn’t have a bit for. It has all of the common bits.
