Absolutely love this purchase! I really did my research because I was hesitant at spending this much money. I have a 7 y/o Rottweiler that suffers from hip dysplasia and has a really difficult time getting up from the ground. He will sleep on my bed but also enjoyed his old dog bed however i HATED seeing him struggle to get up off of it.The bed is very thick and since it is higher off the ground, it is easier for him to get up. He seems to really love it! Completely worth the price point!

UPDATE: Four years later, with 130 and 160 pounds of wolfhound sleeping on them, not a dent in the foam. Just as comfortable now as when new.I have two Irish wolfhounds and purchased two beds in the giant size. Grace Kelly has arthritis, so I was hoping these beds would help. So far, just 3 nights, she seems to be a lot less stiff in the mornings. She was limping for a couple of minutes, now she barely limps at all. She lies on it all the time. The boy, Cary Grant, seems to like it, but our weather is still pretty warn here. When that’s the case, he won’t stay on any bed for long. Cary Grant, the big one, weighs in at 160 pounds, and the bed barely dents in when he’s on it. I’ve been on it, and it’s more comfortable than my bed. Here’s my only issue, and why I thought about buying it for six months before doing so. The giant beds cost $400 dollars (for me times 2). I wanted waterproof liners, because sometimes they get on them when they are damp from rain or baths. Waterproof liners for giant beds are $100 each. I felt that for $400 each, they should include the liners. Lots of the other orthopedic beds come with waterproof liners. In the end, I ordered these anyway because of the good reviews.

My only regret is I ordered the XL for our 100 pound German Shepherd and while it is a great size, he definitely fits on it and can sleep comfortably, a Giant would have been better because he likes to stretch out when he sleeps and lounges. But that was my mistake, no fault of the bed itself. Also, he recently had surgery and is unable to get upstairs to sleep on the Queen guest bed which he loves, so we needed a good supportive bed that would aid him in his healing process. We took a chance ordering this online but it had such great reviews we were confident it would be a great purchase. And we weren’t let down! This is the ONLY dog bed he has actually every slept in, it’s supportive for his aging hips and the cover is very soft which just adds to the coziness. He loves the headrest as well. I also found my husband sleeping on it recently and I know he is picky about his bed so it’s a win all around. Thanks for making a great product for our big fur babies!

We have a 145 lbs Neapolitan Mastiff, Harley, who used an old love seat as her bed. We wanted to replace that with new couch and put something in the corner for Harley. She is home a lot while I work and I wanted the replacement to be as comfortable as the couch. Before I bought this bed I did my research. After looking at numerous beds at pet stores and comparing them to what was online, this bed stood out. I was very hesitant about the price but my thought was I was only going to have buy it once it would be worth it. My theory was spot on. The bed is solid but comfortable and doesn’t come close to flattening out even when she is standing. I built a platform frame for it and as you can tell in the picture she is quite content.

The Big Barker is absolutely THE best bed for BIG dogs and is worth e v e r y s i n g l e p e n n y !!!(Plus, being made in USA and supporting a small family business makes it a grand slam.)I’ve been buying dog beds for big dogs for 35 years and I’m convinced by my own experience that keeping your dog healthy saves pain for your pooch, heartache for you AND keeps your wallet happy long term. Imagine not having to buy dog beds every year or two; not having to “make do” when you know your pooch’s bed is worn out but you’re feeling a bit cheated but you just bought it last year so you let it ride. We’ve all been there.Personally, I’d received glowing recommendations from other Anatolian owners in my group about the Big Barker line of beds because these beds are designed specifically for large, x-large and giant breed dogs (and as a BONUS they are made here in the USA).However, at the time, I’d just purchased replacement beds from Costco which were touted as lofty and suited to giant breed dogs (although, made in China). I purchased 6 Costco beds at $50 each ($300+tax total) and set them up double-decker beds for the dogs. I thought these beds were the answer so I didn’t research the Big Barker any further. Unfortunately, the Costco beds only lasted 1.5 years. The biggest problems were A) the covers were very difficult to remove from the inner “mattress” for laundry, and, B) they began to sag in the middle after 12-ish months of daily use.I had ordered 2 XL Big Barkers for the bedroom to accommodate 300+lbs of dogs intending to put them foot to foot so the bumpers were on the outside (like the arms of a couch) and my dogs were all getting on them before I could set ’em up. I was so happy I got back online and ordered a Large for the Living Room where at least one sleeps. We are renovating our main floor and it’s super simple to pick up to move around.Go the the Big Barker website for all the available information. I got a 10% off discount on additional purchases direct with them and equally fast shipping. Can’t wait to get my SUV specific bed because I take my dogs everywhere.
