Why did I not buy this years ago?

This is a beautiful pot. Perfect size for sauce or something canned to heat up. The handles do get very hot quickly so, I would have liked these lodge pots with a long handle. I do the big no no and wash it with soap and water (gasp). I always keep it oiled with olive oil after washing and it holds up perfectly. I also have the 2 Qt pot and I enjoy having it and 2 skillets with lids. I am very happy with my pots and pans collection now. Thank you for a great product!

    sand casting

The inside of the base is very ruff from the sand casting. Far and above any other Lodge products.

    Great for 1-2 person cooking.

Not cooking for a lot of people anymore.

I love this small cast iron pot. I ordered the 1qt for even smaller cooking amounts as I’m only cooking for one or two people . My other small stainless pans tend to scorch on the sides on the bigger burners of my stove but these conduct the heat all over.

    great size

i got this as a replacement for a small non-stick aluminum pot that was wearing out. when i got the aluminum stuff it was expensive and i thought it was going to last longer and cook better and it let me down on both counts. this cast iron pot is a perfect size for soup and grits for one or two people. my daughter uses it for making ramen. i’ve even poached eggs in it. it’s just a handy size. it gets used several times a day, every day and has since i bought it over a year ago. unlike the expensive aluminum, this little pot really does cook better and will probably last forever.
